TERMS OF HIRE

Hire is subject to our full Terms & Conditions of Horsebox Rental and you are strongly advised to read these prior to making a booking. Key points:

• Full payment of the hire charge is payable upon booking.

• A security deposit of £150 is held during the hire period and credit card or VISA details are taken to cover the insurance excess of £500.

• Only named drivers meeting our eligibility and identification criteria and signing the Rental Agreement may drive the horsebox.

• Drivers must be 25 – 75 years of age and hold a full UK driving licence for a minimum of 2 years.

We are unable to rent out the horsebox to persons who have:

• Had their licence suspended for any period within the last 3 years.

• Been involved in more than one fault incident within the last 3 years.

• More than two convictions with a maximum of 3 points per conviction.

• Obtained a Disqualified Driver (BA), Reckless/Danger Driving (DD) or Unauthorised Taking (UT) conviction.

Each driver must produce:

• Their original photo card licence or pre-1998 paper-only licence before we will release the horsebox. We will not accept copies. In addition each driver must present the following identification when collecting the horsebox:

  • 2 utility bills, or statement (except mobile telephone bills), that are less than 90 days old and that identify each driver with their address and licence; and

  • Unless the driving licence produced is a photo card licence, an original passport or photo ID card.

General

• Horses carried must be insured and accustomed to travelling.

• No smoking is allowed anywhere in the horsebox.

• Strictly no dogs are allowed in the cab area.

• Maximum daily mileage allowance is 300 miles (40p per mile is charged thereafter).

• The Horsebox must be returned:

  • By 7pm on the last day of the hire period for full day.  Late return without agreement may incur a penalty. 

  • With a full tank of diesel.

  • Clean with horse area fully swept out. Failure to do so may incur a penalty.

• Security deposit may be called upon if you:

  • Exceed the mileage allowance.

  • Return the horsebox late.

  • Return the horsebox with less than a full tank of diesel (A fee of £25 will be charged plus the fuel cost).

  • Damage the horsebox.

  • Return the horsebox insufficiently cleaned.
